Addy van der Lugt specialises in structural engineering in the building industry with particular emphasis on conceptualisation and design of structural solutions in reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, and structural steel.
He obtained a MSc Degree from the University of California (Berkeley) in 1983 and was appointed director responsible for the Structural Department of a well-established multidisciplinary firm from 1986 to 1993. In 1991 he was appointed on the executive board. From 1993 to 1996 he ran his own highly successful consulting engineering firm in Gauteng. In 1998 Addy joined EKCON Engineers & Project Managers as a partner.
His key experience includes: Ellis Park Rugby Stadium, Underground Library for the University of Stellenbosch, Wits Engineering Faculty Building Johannesburg, Sasol Head Office Building Rosebank, Vaal Triangle Technikon: various Buildings, Multi-Choice Head Office Randburg, PWC Regional Head Office Century City, Harbour Edge Cape Town, New Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital in Roggebaai Cape Town.
